With My Nose Stuck in a Book

I have often written on my other blog about my love for books which has been around pretty much forever (in fact most of this post was written back in January at my other blog and I just re-wrote some things for this one). With being out of school now (yes, I am an official college graduate!!! Woohoo!!)  and having more free time on my hands, I have found that love re-kindled and burning brighter and harder than ever before. All I long to do is lay in bed for days reading all of my new books (I have 9 on my shelf and many more on my Nook that I haven't even touched yet). But I know that I have responsibilities at work and in life. So that is what keeps me from giving into my bed and books. I know that I have a wedding to pay for, a credit card bill that comes every month (which unfortunately is very large lately with all of the wedding stuff) and student loans that will soon need to be paid on. Writing a blog is nothing new to me. I have another one that I have been writing since 2009. It has been filled with talk of missions, adoption, faith, world issues, reading, family, dreams, fears and so much more. So you may be asking, "Why start a new one?" After a couple of weeks spent immersed in reading other blogs that focus on the joy of reading and various reading challenges, I have decided to start a blog just for my love of books. A place where I can write about what I am reading. A place where I can write about what I am experiencing and learning through words. I have written some about what I am reading and my love for books at my other blog, but it has always been at random times and in the midst of every other random topic I seem to write about. So this one here - A Girl and Her Books - is solely for writing about books, reading, settings, plots, characters and authors. I am not entirely sure of what all I will write or just how often.
